ASTRO CAMP I: PLANETS, STARS, AND TELESCOPES

Ages: 8 - 11 or entering grades 3 - 6, co-ed, 4 hours per day for 5 days   Price:  $210.

Description:  Explore the Sun, Moon, planets and galaxy with lots of hands-on activities. Learn constellation stories and make up your own. Build a simple telescope. And spend time in the Austin Planetarium’s incredible Discovery Dome mobile planetarium – a different experience each day. Includes an evening stargazing session: check out the rings of Saturn in a real telescope!

ASTRO CAMP II: ASTRONAUTS, ROCKETS, AND ROVERS

Ages: 9 - 12 or entering grades 4 - 7, co-ed, 4 hours per day for 5 days   Price: $210.

Description:  A mini-Space Camp. Learn about space flight by building rockets, designing habitats and rovers, talking to a real astronaut, and working as a team on a “space mission.” And of course, exploring space in Austin Planetarium’s Discovery Dome mobile planetarium. Includes an evening stargazing session: check out the rings of Saturn in a real telescope!

ASTRO CAMP JUNIOR: PLANETS, STARS, AND TELESCOPES

Ages: 6 - 8 or entering grades 1 - 3, co-ed, 3 hours per day for 5 days   Price: $160.

Description:  Especially for younger star-gazers. Explore the Sun, Moon, and planets with lots of hands-on activities. Learn constellation stories and make up your own. And spend time in the Austin Planetarium’s incredible Discovery Dome mobile planetarium – a different experience each day. Includes an evening stargazing session: check out the rings of Saturn in a real telescope!

All camp sessions include one evening star gazing session either Thursday or Friday 9-10 pm, weather contingent.  Camp session fee includes admission to night session for camper and 1 adult. All campers must be accompanied by at least one adult. Extra attendees are welcome.  $8 Adults, $5 for children ages 5-12. Children under 5 are free. Extra persons may pay at camp or that night.

Session 1:  Astro Camp II    Date: June 24 - 28, 12:30 - 4:30 pm  NO LONGER AVAILABLE

Session 2:  Astro Camp Jr   Date: July 22 - 26, 9:00 am - 12 noon

Session 3:  Astro Camp I     Date: July 22 - 26, 1:00 - 5:00 pm

Session 4:  Astro Camp II    Date: August 5 - 9, 12:30 - 4:30 pm
