Building an Austin Planetarium is a huge undertaking. How to raise 60 million dollars? How to manage the money? What to build? What to put inside the buildings? Needless to say it is nearly impossible for the board of directors, let alone an individual, to have all the knowledge needed to bring this project to a successful conclusion. For that reason we have several Advisory Committees.
The first committee consists of professionals that assist in our fundraising efforts and the more general aspects of the project. Some individuals have great connections with city or state officials and know how to navigate the political landscape. Others are architectural or engineering experts; and of course there are fundraising and financial experts to complete the council. Needless to say, our list of advisors is vast and will be growing over time.
