Being a non-profit, the partnerships and affiliations we forge are integral to the success of our endeavor. The Austin Planetarium is fortunate to have built some very special relationships with some very special organizations.

 

International Planetarium Society

The International Planetarium Society (IPS) is the largest organization of professional planetarians in the world with members from almost every continent and over 20 affiliate organizations associated. The Austin Planetarium has been an IPS member since 2004.

 

Southwestern Alliance of Planetariums
SWAP is a regional association of Planetarium professionals who are associated with schools, museums, science centers or private institutions. SWAP is generally the region consisting of the states of Arkansas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas in the U.S.A. Our members come from this region, other regions within the U.S. and from around the world. The Austin planetarium has been a SWAP member since 2005.

 

Southeastern Planetarium Association

The Southeastern Planetarium Association (SEPA), is a professional organization for the support of planetaria and staff in Kentucky, West Virginia, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and all U.S. Territories off the southeastern coast of the U.S. The Austin planetarium has been a SEPA member since July 2009

 

Texas Space Grant Consortium

The Texas Space Grant Consortium (TSGC) is a group of 46 institutions which include universities, industrial organizations, non-profit organizations, and government agencies within Texas that are joined to ensure that the benefits of space research and technology are available to all Texans. In a broader context, the National Space Grant Program, consisting of 52 Space Grant Consortia nationwide, cooperate to achieve this goal for all Americans. The Austin Planetarium has been a TSGC member since December 2009.
